In an effort to stop overpaying for eyeglasses, I finally decided to give the Warby Parker Home Try-On Program a try. The company has been around for six years and I had many friends who were happily sporting them but I was skeptical of ordering eyewear online I could not try on. Unfortunately, I never took the time to visit the website to discover they had a home try-on program (and physical locations in some states)! If you’ve ever shopped for eyewear at a traditional optical location then you can probably relate to spending $300 plus for low-quality eyewear frames or $500 plus for a designer version. I was done with overpaying and was truly impressed with their selection – something tells me they pay attention to not only eyewear trends but fashion ones as well.
Literally, in a simple 5 step process, you can have eyeglasses that are not only affordable (prices range from $95-$295, depending on your needs) but also super stylish!
Here was my experience step by step:
Step 1: Choose Up to 5 Frames to Try On (sent and returned for Free)
This part was fun! You choose the 5 frames you’d like to try on and add to your “try-on” cart. They have a large selection of frames that hit all the right marks both style and color-wise. Below was my selection, I love all things tortoise which is why I chose 3 versions to try from. Then a red frame for a bolder option and pink for a softer look.
Daisy / Preston / Laurel 17 / Kimball / Finch
The only downside was not all frames were available for home try-on (although the majority of them are) and one other I really wanted to try on (Ella below) was out of stock for try-on. I highly suggest you do try these on if you can get your hands on them, they must be popular for a reason.
Step 2: Receive Frames (you have 5 days to test out)
The delivery was fast, I received the frames within 4 days from when ordered. They came adorably packaged with tips and advice outlined in the inner top of the box to help with choosing your frames. The frames are well made and beautifully designed which was the general consensus I had gathered from friends who already owned a pair from them.
Step 3: Download Their App to Create a Fun Video Clip Testing the Frames Out
The best part is they have an amazing app you can download which includes a photo booth ready for you to customize with your very own pictures styling the frames. Each frame you ordered for try-on is already pre-labeled and simply awaits your photo to create a 10-second video clip!
And with a simple tap, you can share the video with family or friends via social media or save to your personal photo album to send it as a private text message or email.
If you opt to save to photos, it not only stores the video clip but all of the photos you took when trying on each frame so you can also send single photos as well. Genius!

.Step 4: Choose Your Pair and Place Order
I went for the Kimball, as you can tell I was feeling myself in them (lol). An additional bonus for downloading the app is you can place your order directly from it. You can either upload your prescription or have them call your doctor for the info (a slower process, but they are still willing to do it). In other words, they have amazing customer service.
Step 5: Return Frames with Prepaid Return Label & Wait For Your Order to Arrive
The last step is to simply apply the prepaid label to box and schedule a pick-up online with your local USPS or drop them off and you’re done! Now sit back and wait for your new gorgeous eyeglasses to arrive!
Overall Review/Experience
Overall, I highly recommend Warby Parker if you’re on the hunt for stylish, quality eyewear that is affordable. The process is simple and seamless. The only downside was not having all items available for try-on and being out of stock of a popular version but definitely a small price to pay for their amazing customer service and app!
